Rossal - Read what I said mate, 4/5 first team players. Overall, i'd say 10 instead of 7/8.

Eerie,

You sort of have a point...and it's good that I dont get my way and we aren't like that.

They have a nice little ground, great training facilities and a really progressive, supportive youth program.....

But their support are compliant mutes who have accepted their place and it rubs off on their team who played the same way.

With the weather and there standard of play and support it had a pre season friendly vibe except for the West Ham fans who showed them how to do it.

Norwich Fans seemed hurt and bemused.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
The squad is tiny as it is and we're "taking away":

Areola
Randolph
Martin
Fredericks
Ogbonna (pending his decision)
Noble
Kral
Yarmolenko

Granted most of them don't contribute anything at all.

In addition there is no faith in using Masuaku.

We are already 5 bodies short, with 8/9 more leaving.

Randolph & Martin dont realistically need replacing, or maybe just with 1 experienced keeper waiting for retirement.

Can't see how the club are going to identify a minimum of 10 players in 1 summer.

I was unsurprisingly surprised to see no kids on the bench yesterday. There was no circumstance where he would put Kral on the pitch so no point including him at all with Soucek and Noble ahead of him from the bench. Why not go Chesters or someone similar?

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
I think 7/8 is what we need.

We already need 3/4 and then minimum of 5 could be leaving this squad without player sales

It is a huge summer for us in the transfer window, this summer determines whether Rice stays another year and if we remain in that top 4/6 hunt

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
I'm not saying they will go or should go, could be useful squad players. Will leave it to Moyes and co to sort.

We needs bare minimum 4 new first team players, probably 5.

And replace them with who? You're looking at £100M+ to replace those......and then youve got to address the far bigger issues in the squad this summer.

I don't give a hoot about stats, watching Benrahma it's clear he isn't good enough if we are serious about progressing. Lacks a football brain. Mind you, I feel the same about Soucek and Fornal, too. Lanzini can go too.

It will be pretty galling if we finish below Man Utd, should not have happened if that's the case.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
Benrahma isn't an issue.

If you're going to pick out a player in that position, then Vlasic is the obvious choice.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
Did you know? Said Benrahma scored his eighth and ninth Premier League goals to register 21 goal involvements in the competition. Only Jarrod Bowen (30) and Michail Antonio (28) have also registered 20+ goal involvements in the Premier League for the Hammers since Benrahma's debut in October 2020.

Was there in the wrong end, right next to our supporters with Ed Balls behind me.

Was really interesting to get a different perspective on out support. Loud. Funny. (You've got the ball, You've lost the ball) Right behind the team. (Happy Birthday Mark Noble)

Was watching with an ex Pro he just loved the fact that Rices head never stops moving, always on the swivel, knowing whats going on and what he wants to do and the team to do next.

Norwich were nice and accomodating in every way. :-)

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
I was thinking 3-0 at half time, an ideal time to play a few of the kids or give Vlasic a run out, but no. Not one kid on the bench and playing players who we are fucking off at the end of the season.
How will we ever know how good our kids are ?

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
It was interesting to see us play without Soucek, and even more interesting to see Rice drop into defence.

We can cope without Soucek, and maybe with Lingard or similar, we can rediscover the fluid counter attacking movement we had for a while.

Rice is world class in his position, but was equally outstanding in the back line, which effectively released an extra player ahead of him. If I was a money bags manager, I'd break the bank to sign him, at his age with his ability, he is a Rolls Royce and will be for another 10 years or more.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
Benrahma isn't looking nothing like a premier league player, he's only scored 8 goals in the league that's a goal in every 4 starts

6 assists too, so involved in 14 of our 57 goals.. That's 1 in 4 of every goal almost..

Yep no end product, opinions are like arse holes, but the facts disagree.

Button - Yep, would be very surprised if we didn't finish 7th.

Yes there is a Q leg, matches on 18th and 25th August. Draw on 1st August.

Re: ⚽ Norwich v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 0-4 It's a Ratch!!
Of course we know how this will pan out - good performance against City maybe even get a point then get stuffed by Brighton.
Just read there is a qualifying leg if we finish 7th (to get into group stage) in early August.
This means we will have made no new signings but if we get put out they can still ship Rice out to fund any transfers
Perfect for the dildos

I put the post up about soucek around 3 months ago and got slated , I know it’s only Norwich but I feel like we’re a better side when it’s a midfield of fornals , Lanzini and rice , I do love soucek and his warrior mentality but I feel like he should only start when we’re playing playing the bigger sides and need to nick a goal from a set piece etc . When we are at home or playing the lesser sides away then it should be our ball players starting

"Ok fair enough pure stupidity. same stupidity as Geoff Hurst taking a penalty in a semi final against a goalkeeper who knew which way he placed them".

The world and their mother knew where Hurst placed his penalties. Few keepers could save them though, and Banks was perhaps the world's best.
